Summer is here and the sailing season is starting. The Twelve Metre Class and in particular, the North American Fleet are looking forward to a return to the Race Course.  The past couple of years has seen three new teams join the Modern Division:  The Askew Brothers will be campaigning ENTERPRISE and Takashi Okura’s TP52 SLED team will be campaigning FREEDOM.  COURAGEOUS will be campaigned by Dawn Riley and a team from Oakcliff.  The addition of three strong teams to the Modern Division strengthen it’s position as the place to be for exciting on the water action and competition.

Victory’83 represents a unique opportunity to join the Modern Division with a highly competitive and fully tuned Twelve Metre. She has been restored and updated to the highest standard. The complete program is for sale including the tender and container.  She is ready to place a new team at the front of the Fleet as they campaign in preparation for the 2023 Worlds in Newport!

Victory’83 has always been fast: two time World Champion (1984 Porto Cervo and 2009 – Newport)  The race results since 2008 tell the tale of a very fast boat in all conditions.  Numerous fleet and regional wins including many North American Championships.  Winner of the 2019 Pre-Worlds and first to finish in the Twelve Metre Around the Island Fleet Race against Twelves of all Divisions.  The current owner has done the hard work of restoring the boat and getting her fully tuned up. He is now “retired” and ready to pass the torch to a new team.

The new deck layout and systems, known as the “Victory Job”, are the envy of the Gran Prix and Modern Divisions. She is the first Super Twelve! Victory’83 sports a deep sail inventory including three carbon mainsails; the latest was new for the 2019 Worlds Season. She has a large inventory of spares. Victory’83 comes with 2+ sets of running rigging, a full set of foul weather gear and the all required 12M outfit including safety gear.   This a turnkey program!  Add your own team, some water and go racing!

A key feature of the 2008 refit was a complete re-configuration of the deck and cockpits to optimize sail and boat handling for the larger crew size permitted in the current Class Rule.
