Victory ’83 is an International 12 Metre yacht based in Newport, RI. She was launched in April 1983 for Peter deSavary’s Victory Syndicate from Great Britain. She received a complete refit and modernization in 2008 and now competes in the Modern Division of the 12 Metre Class.
In addition to racing in the Modern Division of the Twelve Metre Class, she also has an IRC Certificate for local events. She has competed in the NYYC Queen’s Cup, finishing 3rd in 2015 and 4th in 2016. In 2019, she finished 6th out of 29 entries – behind three TP52’s, a Ker 40 and a Botin 44. She has proven to be competitive against the lighter displacement sprit boats.
