1983 Challenger Trials

Victory ’83 was the second boat built for Peter deSavary’s Victory Syndicate. She was a strong contender in the 1983 Challenger Trials, finishing as runner-up to the 1983 America’s Cup Winner Australia 2. Other boats in the Challenger Trials included Azzurra, France 3, Canada, Challenge 12, Advance, and Sverige. Thirty-five years later Victory ’83 and Challenge 12 are active members of the Modern Division in Newport, RI.
